At Shuayb Dental we use a device to called an autoclave to sterilize reusable dental equipment as well as dental handpieces. The autoclave uses steam, heat, and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses.
Dr. Shuayb and his team follow policies suggested by several federal agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and the CDC (Centers of Disease Control.)
Some of these practices include:

- Disinfectant hand soap
- Sterilization of all equipment before each use
- Disposable materials
- Chemical disinfection of all surfaces and countertops
